Day 1. Arusha, to Central Serengeti
Your safari adventure will kick off at 8 AM in the morning as we pick you up from your hotel in Arusha. Once everyone is onboard we will embark on a journey towards the Serengeti National Park. The drive spans 240 kilometers. Is expected to take around 6 hours. As you enter the Serengeti be prepared to be awestruck by the vastness of its plains stretching far as the eye can see and seamlessly merging with the sky on the horizon. It is truly a sight to behold! Encompassing a land area of 14,763 kilometers this remarkable park challenges our perception of distance.
The Serengeti is also home to Africas Big 5″ animals; elephants, rhinos, buffalos, lions and leopards. Spotting these creatures in their habitat will undoubtedly be an incredible experience. Additionally, keep an eye out for one of Africa’s animals – the Impala.
Renowned for its abundant wildlife population the Serengeti ecosystem sustains a remarkable concentration of plains game species in all of Africa. The central part of the Serengeti, known as the Seronera area boasts a diversity of wildlife habitats within the park. It showcases the magnificent Seronera River which serves as a water source, for this region and attracts a variety of wildlife species found across the entire Serengeti.
When visiting Seronera it’s important to keep an eye out for the lion prides that thrive in this area. You should also be, on the lookout for the Serengeti “Kopjes ” which’re granite boulders surrounded by grass. These Kopjes offer shelter to a range of plants and animals. During your day game drive you’ll have a picnic lunch there in the midst of all the action. The eventful day concludes with a dinner and a nights rest at your accommodation Serengeti Katikati Tented Lodge
Day 2. Exploring Central Serengeti
You have two options for how to start your day; enjoy a breakfast and depart for full day game drives around 9;00 AM with a lunch returning back to the lodge late afternoon around 6;00 PM; or embark on an early morning game drive at 6;00 AM and then return to your accommodation for breakfast before setting off on an afternoon game drive with another packed lunch. The Seronera area within this park is particularly rich, in wildlife boasting the presence of the Seronera River that serves as a water source attracting species representative of Serengetis diverse ecosystem.
During the offseason of migration it’s important to be vigilant, for the lion prides that thrive in this area. The interactions and survival of these lion prides offer a game viewing experience throughout the year. After enjoying a picnic lunch during a day of game drives the day comes to a close at around 5 PM. A satisfying dinner awaits, followed by a night in your accommodation.
